Interaction with guests

Johan lives 5 minutes from the house and is available for any necessity

The neighborhood

There is nothing but nature around you: It's beauty is overwhelming as it can be harsh if the rains delay. A thunderstorm may bring hail in the middle of a hot day, followed by extraordinary rainbows and a sky so filled with stars van Gogh would want to paint it. It is a landscape of heroic proportions and beauty that leaves any weary traveler restored.

Other than our horses, thankfully no. A dirt road of 5 km from the homestead takes you to the public tar road. You are then 20 km from Middleburg, the nearest town.

Other things to note

The farm is 7-8 hour drive from either Johannesburg or Cape Town, in the proper center of the country, the Great Karoo. It is 3.5 hours drive from the airports of Port Elizabeth or Bllomfonteing. 4 wheel drive vehicles not required to access the estate.

Cleaning staff of 2 plus gardener available all days and part of the package.

There are numerous hikes of different levels of difficulty, horses can be ridden, and there is a farm pick up that you can use to drive around the reserve in search of the many species we stock: Zebra, Gemsbock, Blesbock, Impala, Springbock, Wilderbeast, Kudu and many other smaller species. All you need to do is ask Johan for ideas.

Help yourself to the various vegetables from our vegetable garden, very near the house.
